It is not your fault! No teacher in the world could be expected to grow a class of two into anything else. After all, that is why colleges and universities regularly cancel classes with less than ten students. Let go of that outcome - it's not your doing! As for your buddy, "the bandit"... He is a child. I suggest you treat him as such. He has no sense of his boundaries. My personal plan of "attack" would be to carry all of the garbage, piece by piece, into his room. Once he confronts you about "what the !@$#?" you did that for, you could simply point out that he has been doing that to your living space for three months!
